About Therapy

There are myriad reasons why a person may wish to start therapy, and each person’s therapeutic process will look different. I describe therapy as a space in which you can share parts of you and your life experiences that you may not feel able to share elsewhere. It is a space where we come together to help you explore, understand and process your feelings and experiences, in an environment that is non-judgemental and supportive, as well as honest and sometimes gently challenging.

In therapy, it is often helpful to talk about the past in order to better understand the present. The way we have lived and the world and relationships we have experienced previously have a profound impact on our day-to-day lives, and so the difficulties we experience now can sometimes be best understood and moved through by exploring the past. Therapy is also about looking to the future; by coming together in this endeavour, we hope to make some meaningful change.
